Exercise, Writing and Body Exceptance
5/15/2013 6:27:56 PM
There is a blog post below, but I want to say something first. You are perfect the way you are. Right here and right now you are wonderful, capable, and you are enough. You might need to be a healthier person, but that doesn’t make what you are now wrong in any way. If you want to be stronger and more fit then you have to realize that it is the body you have right ... Read More

Things I Remember About Being Thin
10/8/2012 8:28:38 AM
I haven’t written a post for a while and that was mostly because I couldn’t think of anything truly inspiring to write about. This morning I thought of an idea that at least seemed interesting. I figured I would write about the some of the awesome things I remember from when I was thin. See guys, I haven’t been heavy my whole life. There have been times in my life when I ate right, exercised ...

October Goals
10/1/2012 11:30:12 AM
So it’s a new month and stuff. I guess this is the time where I set some goals and start working on getting things done. It’s also the kickoff to the holiday season, and I want to exceed my expectations. I don’t want to say screw it this year and let it all go to heck until New Years. Oh no, I want to get the things done this year that I didn’t get done ...

I Have an Attitude
9/28/2012 9:00:51 AM
It has become apparent to me as I try to navigate the Weight Watchers program that I have an attitude. I have a sense of entitlement when it comes to food and if I want to lose weight, I have to get past that attitude.
What I mean by an attitude of entitlement about food is that I seem to believe that I should have whatever food I want when I want it. If I ... Read More

One Day In and Another Day Out
9/24/2012 9:21:14 AM
As you can probably guess by the title, I kinda didn’t do so great yesterday. We went to an apple festival with the kids and my favorite foods are served at those things. Three things: pork burgers, kettle corn and apple cider. I ate all three and boy were they delicious. That probably wasn’t the real problem. The real problem was me figuring that I blew it and having Jimmy John’s for dinner.
Yea, I ... Read More
Today Went Awesome!
9/22/2012 5:58:16 PM
Had a better day than I have had in a long time as far as my diet and fitness goals go. I ran a 5k today in the park with my husband just for fun. It really wasn’t all that fun because it was totally hard, but it was so worth the sense of accomplishment.
I believe the reason the 5k was so hard was because I have spent the last week eating as much ... Read More

What The??
9/22/2012 8:42:38 AM
So what happens when it all breaks down? What happens when you stop caring about eating right, barely hang on to your exercise routine and start wondering why you got yourself into this in the first place? I accept and love my body the way it is, so why try and get better?
Well for starters, what I eat directly affects my running. There is a real difference in the way I feel and my ... Read More
Extraordinary Life
9/18/2012 10:16:59 PM
In my opinion weight loss is about so much more than just losing fat and getting fit. It is about changing your lifestyle. In order to change your body you have to do so much more than eat the right foods in the right amounts and exercise. You have to shift your entire way of thinking and living.
So many things have to change because obesity that hinders your life is a symptom of more ... Read More

So Far, So Good
9/15/2012 8:18:49 AM
I’m rolling right through my first day on Weight Watchers. I have had some hunger, but that is both natural and healthy. We aren’t built to be full all of the time. Hunger, but not starvation, helps drive us forward. I have made it this far in the day by planning ahead. I ate breakfast and then planned my points for the rest of the day. I have also been eating a ton of fruits ...

Deciding to Join Weight Watchers
9/14/2012 7:30:44 AM
I want to have a healthy relationship with food. I think I have a pretty healthy relationship with exercise, but food is a huge hang up for me. Probably because I am a food addict. I really believe that my forays into intuitive eating were akin to an alcoholic saying that they could quit drinking anytime they want, but I can’t quit anytime I want. I need structure and support. I need limits set for ...

Running and Moar Running
9/12/2012 9:42:07 AM
I wrote this yesterday:
Today was my third day of running in a row. I have been training for a long time, but I can’t recall training for three days in a row before. Sunday I did 3.2 miles, yesterday we did a one mile interval/fartlek run and today we did hills. My husband suggested that we start doing more than just trying to run for distance. Hence why we did fartlek and hills. Plus ...

Body Image. It's All in Your Head.

I guess I am going to talk about body image. I see a great deal of people talking about how they think they should look, or what they they think they are going to look like. I don’t see a whole lot of discussion about embracing the way we look now.
The first question I have to ask is do you really know what you look like now? Have you taken the time recently to ... Read More

I am so sick of “thinspo” I could scream. I don’t really like “fitspo” either. Comparing yourself to other people is a terrible habit. Why do This?
